A new design...

I have gotten the doodling bug again!  This is one that I have deemed complete.  Drawn on 80lbs. Strathmore drawing paper.  With my usual fine point Sharpie marker.  I hope you all enjoy it.

In case you are interested in purchasing any of my art work.  I have started to sell it on a website called etsy.com.  My shop site is located at www.etsy.com/shop/DoodleGuy.  If you don't see anything there that are interested but like something that you see on my blog, drop me an email and find out if I would be willing to sell it.  T

New and Old

It has been a while since I have have completed some doodles...  until know that is!  While some these have been done for some time, others of these are brand new!  I have been busy recently designing some tattoos for some people the first

This tattoo was designed for my sister-in-law.  There are many different forms of symbolism, from the pea's, to the lady bugs to the dates in the vines.  Can't wait to see finished result!

I was asked by a friend to put together a celtic design including his family initials.  I put together a couple different options for him, and look forward to seeing the tattoo which ever design he chooses.

I drew this eye back in 2008.  Since I work an Eye Department, I was inspired to learn how to draw an eye. Oddly enough I have not drawn an eye since.

This was drawn to be potential logo.  Hopefully it will be able to be used at some point

This is my most current work.  I started it yesterday, and was able to complete it this evening.  I did not doodle anything specific in this doodle.  I think that allows the imagination to see what ever it wants.  The evening while I was sitting at the table with my daughter, she saw watched me working on this doodle and said, "Your doodling daddy?  Your making fires! Your doing a good job daddy!"  I have her approval!

Hope you enjoyed some my recent doodles!   AP

Megan in Mexico

I know it's been a while since I have posted, and it is with good reason.  You see, I had been working on this doodle for a while, and have had it finished for sometime too.  But the hold up, was that I did this for a good friend and wanted to make sure that she got see it before anyone else saw it.

You see, I doodled this a dear friend of my wife and mine.  Megan has been one of my wifes dearest and best friends.  She has heard Gods calling to go and become a missionary in Mexico.  So I decided to do this doodle in honor of her new adventure.

This peice is 8.5x11 and done on a 80lbs. drawing paper with a sharpie.

Glad that you like it Megan!  Happy Birthday!

If you would like to read more about how Megans mission is going, feel free to visit her Blog.

Little Girl and a Rose

Recently a friend of mine decided to share his artwork with me.  It was fantastic!  He does his artwork with paper and graphite or charcoal.  It got me thinking that I should explore some new options when it comes to my own art.

I did this sketch of my daugher.  I think that she was around 6-9 months at the time (now she is almost 23 months.)  This was a free hand drawing with a graphite #2 pencil.  Just your standard pencil. I have never really figured out the whole shading thing, but I am pleased with how this turned out.

The second is a drawing of a Rose.  I saw this technique from my friends portfolio, and thought I would take a stabe at it.  I stared out with a plain white piece of paper and shaded the entire page with a #2 pencil.  Then with an eraser removed the shape of the rose.  Then I preceded to shade with the pencil.  I hope you like it.

I have discovered that #2 pencils are not exactly designed for doing these type of drawings, and have since purchased pencils that are made for drawing.  I hope that you have enjoyed something a little bit different.  I will get some new and differnt style of doodles up soon!

Both sketches were done on 8.5x11 white paper with a #2 pencil

Stay tuned...

Face 2

Well not one of my favorites but I thought I should post anyway. I am having a lot of fun trying out new mediums, and have even gotten some pencils to try my hand at sketching. I am not sure what I am going to sketch, but I will figure that out at a later time. For now I will stick to something that I know, and that is paper and sharpie.

Enjoy!
